FRAME: Topics in Brainspotting and Religion, Spirituality, & Contemplative Practices

FOCUS: The Multi-facited Role of Religion & Spiritualities in Brainspotting Practice​​

​

Recent research in religion, spirituality, & mental heath shows that while over 80% of the world's population have some sort of religio--spiritual belief set and/or practice, most mental health practitioners are lacking in training and competence when the healing frame includes organized religious tranditions as well as personal/collective spiritual and mystical experiences.

​

In this workshop class we will explore:​

  • how Brainspotting and various religio-spiritual frameworks both converge & diverge ​

  • ways that limbic countertransference may arise from the intersection of Brainspotting practitioners' own religio-spiritual frames with those of their clients

  • how engaging with client's religio-spiritual experiences can enhance the effectiveness of Brainspotting  â€‹â€‹

FOCUS: The 2024 Revision of the Consultant's Report -- Keeping up with the Changes!​​

​

There are some significant changes and additions to the topics to be covered and assessed for Certification that may or may not have been explicitly included in *your* CIT training -- because Brainspotting is constantly evolving even when the core Phase 1 and Phase 2 curriculum appears to stay the same.

​

In this extended time-frame (2 hour) class you'll receive a concise review of the new Certification standards for Brainspotting theory & application in practice, including a refresher on:

  • the Neuroexperiential Model (NEM) as a therapist/healer model, contrasted with "evidence-based" and/or "diagnostic" models

  • Brainspotting as a developmental model

  • the Uncertainty Principle of Brainspotting as a paradigm shift

​

You will also learn: 

  • how to shift the flow of the process for "Consultation for Certification" within the minimum six (6) sessions

  • how to transition your current consultees into the new criteria​

  • ​the power of process​​​​​​
